I then returned to medical school at Temple after which I went to the University of Virginia for a research year focused on a vaccine against MRSA in a total joint rabbit model. I then returned to my hometown for orthopaedic residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and finally pursued an additional year of training at the Cleveland Clinic in total joint replacement. I have worked as a total joint surgeon in private practice in Indiana for 4 years before returning to academics in 2016 at the University of Rochester, in Rochester, NY where I am currently employed as an assistant professor.

Based on my background I am interested in answers and solutions surrounding value based care. Value based care is ideally higher quality care provided at a lower cost. My specific interest are periprosthetic (total joint) infections because they are extremely costly and devastating to patients and hospital systems; reducing total joint complications; standardizing rehabilitation following total joint replacement; machine learning as it applies to orthopaedic care; and surgical simulation.
